Jared "Pete" Gile
Friday, April 11, 2008 -- 5:30-7:30pm

For Jared “Pete” Gile, the formula has always been simple:
“Do what you love to do, until you’re too broke to do it anymore or you’re dead.”
Lucky for him, and his fans, he’s alive and well, and so is his music career. A career as a solo singer/songwriter act in the Roots Country / Folk genre that has taken him from performing in small smoky bars scattered across his home state of Kansas, to performing in clubs all across the entire Midwest .
After completing 2 degrees at Kansas State University in 2002 , Pete decided to put off getting a 9 to 5 job and take a stab at living his version of the American Dream. A version of the American Dream which included singing his songs to people anywhere they would listen.
After a six month stint touring as the front man of his own band following the release of his debut album "Modern Day Mountain Man" in 2003, several happenings made him realize that he was much happier and more effective as a solo act. Staying true to himself, as any artist should, and after more than 3 years following his first release, Pete gathered up some new material and headed back into the studio. His latest album, “More of Me” was recorded in Texas in late November of 2006 and was released in early 2007. Throughout the new CD, Pete delivers on his ever growing diversity of singing and songwriting.
Writing and playing his own music through live shows have allowed him to meet and have conversations with folks like the legendary Willie Nelson, Gordon Lightfoot, and Robert Earl Keen. Gile's writing style and abilities as a live performer have earned him opening spots for artists ranging from well known songwriters like Darrell Scott, Max Stalling and Billy Joe Shaver, to acts who have built their careers around high energy live shows like Trent Wilmon, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Kevin Fowler and Jason Boland and the Stragglers.
His live shows combine small town charm with wry wit and sly humor. He can make you laugh, he can make you cry, and he can make you think. But most importantly, he can always leave you with the feeling that you just heard something special. You can always find out more at www.jaredpetegile.com .
